May 15, 2017 · Spore doesn't take well to resolution switching. You need to go into the settings and change the resolution and select the full screen option as well.

Mar 25, 2014 · When i first booted the game it was in widescreen but the resolution was set at something terrible. I was able to select 1920x1080 on the menu but for some reason now the ratio isnt widescreen and it is square now with the black bars on side. I thought 1920x1080 was always widesreen. Suppose there is a text file somewhere I can edit to fix?

Nov 17, 2019 · While the bad widescreen support is annoying as xxxx, the game is completely playable and enjoyable! You could just let it run in the default "borderless windowed" 21:9 mode. It's Vert- instead of Hor+ and windowed prevents Gsync/FreeSync, but it's totally playable this way.

Sep 05, 2008 · So the Creature Creator looks squished in my widescreen resolution settings, so I play it in a window. Is this an issue with the Spore game too? I see that it looks fine in Spore videos when its playing in the background of Maxis.
