May 07, 2010 · Hello everyone, as promised my work on adding xattr support to squashfs so far. The included patch (against 2.6.31.12 currently) implements the kernel bits for squashfs xattr support, following the format described therein and for convenience also repeated below.

Squashfs uses multiple levels of indirection to store Xattr key value pairs associated with inodes. To saves space, the topmost namespace prefix is removed and encoded as an integer ID instead. This approach limits squashfs xattr support to the following, commonly used namespaces:

Jun 08, 2015 · If you search the Raspberrypi.org forums there was a thread there that contained an image file already setup with squashfs. I was able to install Ubuntu 15.04 on my RaspPi2 with that. HOWEVER, the install was flaky and did not work very smoothly. I eventually deleted the install using berryboot and got an SD card just for Ubuntu 15.04.
