Currently (2004-12-10) SquirrelMail does not have any tests that stop user from doing it. Support of replying and forwarding email with different charset is experimental (only in 1.5.x and 1.4.4+) and works only with specific encoding (UTF-8) or with certain combination of translation and email encodings.

it confuse firefox if unicode pages is build without it so firefox will not decode unicode :( the fix should be easy to make, no ? i ask since i install squirrelmail on a new server and this is the only problem i have found with it :( what is the correct languages settings in config.php to use unicode ?

Not sure about charsets used in India. SquirrelMail should work with utf-8, but it does not support ISCII. Plus there are some Unicode variations and character set name aliases that are not supported. -- Tomas
