Jun 09, 2010 · Based on the most recent Steam Hardware Survey the 98.52% of computers having Steam support SSE2, while SSE3 and SSE4 are supported by 95.54% of computers. Not all PC players have Steam, but I think it is quite a useful metric for this kind of questions. In this case, you can probably safely assume everybody have a CPU with SSE2 nowadays.

Whenever I click on its shortcut, the game does not boot up, instead it says SSE and SSE2 required. Curiously, I can run the dota 2 test client without problems.

Try upgrading from 44 to the higher numbers, it will still allow this method to work as SSE2 instructions in firefox have been purposely end arounded from way back to the point these functions are actually not needed even running Flash which was the first to require SSE2 way back …

May 06, 2019 · All modern software which were compiled with Visual Studio 2015+ will expect SSE2 support and this includes most web browsers. This isn’t a browser restriction but rather Microsoft dropping support for those old processors. If your processor doesn’t have feature, it’s probably way too slow to run render any current web content.
