May 23, 2013 · I would just like to say that I was having this problem as well. The Fedex shipping options was not displaying. Finally looked at the log and found this errror -> SSL support is not available in this build. Searched, found this post and enabled the php_openssl extension. It worked. So happy, I took the time to comment here. Many thanks

Aug 21, 2014 · SoapFault exception: [HTTP] SSL support is not available in this build. I can do https requests to my server without a problem. Also I have made sure that: When I look at my phpinfo SSL is showing as enabled every where except in PHAR (I doubt it matters there, but correct me if I'm mistaken).

In this instance WooCommerce itself does not directly interact with Fedex but the mentioned plugin handles all of that. If there is an issue (Fedex plugin was updated but WooCommerce has not been there could be comparability issues for example.) This is why I referenced a quick search and debugging.

The problem is not the server (Apache). The SOAP-Extension in PHP is build without SSL support. --> The only way to enabling this, is to recompile this extension.

Software, such as Miva Merchant, that talks to their servers for things like getting rates or generating shipments, must be able to talk to them using TLS and SHA2 certs.
