We finally found some steel supports that hold 1,000 pounds but found out the part the granite is glued to is plywood and we are not sure that the steel supports would work if not screwed into solid wood. Please help.

I brought support up to the granite contractor and he said no support needed as he proceeded to sit on the edge of the counter.
