Feb 08, 2007 · The only thing you should try to heat to fix should be plastic parts, in my opinion. When you heat up the metal to repair it, it will weaken the metal and no longer be as safe. By core support, do you mean radiator support or the Apron assembly. If its the radiator support, you could probably cut and weld a new one in yourself.

Sep 04, 2009 · This is the E320 with R134a. I wouldn't exactly call it damaged, more like "modified". After taking a closer look, it's not hard to see how the support could get bent. It's just stamped sheetmetal. I'm sure a nylon strap between it and the tow hook on my wife's minivan will easily straighten it. _____

Jul 08, 2008 · What are the options for a DIY job? For now I can live with things a little dented and imperfect so removing the radiator support isn't in the plans. I was wondering if one of those farm jacks that can reach up real high, placed under the support, using the weight of the car to straighten it back would work. But, I'm open to other suggestions.
