The Dell OptiPlex GX150 motherboard would not support anything remotely modern in the way of RAM or a CPU. A higher capacity IDE drive may be possible, but because of the age of the system, the BIOS likely will not allow more than 127 GB of any drive to be usable.

Re: Optiplex 330 CPU Upgrade. I only had problems with Green Smoke. Purple smoke came from activities other than computers like drinking beer. Since the Chipset does not upgrade itself over time I don't understand the reasoning behind why you would think that newer parts would be able to run with a simple bios change.

Sep 29, 2017 · No one can give you a definitive answer; there is no support for win10 on the support page at dell. In fact, the only supported operating systems are vista and xp; not even win7 is supported. When you use an unsupported operating system, you are in effect a beta tester. Might work just fine and it might not work fine.
