I dint get a clear picture of these two schemes. Can somebody help me to understand. what i understood is sip uri can contain user agent ip, its name or other identity which can be resolved by sip proxy whereas tel uri contains resolved number and proxy will pass the same as it is to terminating end.

The second URI should result in the invalid hostport "+example.com", where this puts the value in userinfo. What happens to invalid tel: URI's? For example "tel:10000" - no phone-context or + would cause 10000 to be used as hostport (like in SIP uri). I'd like to see test cases added to sip_parse_uri_full_test and/or sip_parse_uri_test.

So, after a bit of research I discovered two events that appeared to offer a solution, LOCATION_CHANGING and LOCATION_CHANGE. I had planned to read the location property of the LOCATION_CHANGING event and then if it had a "tel:" URI I would just cancel the operation and use navigateToURL() to launch the URI in the system browser.
