I know there are alternatives (such as thinstation) but for a number of reasons we couldn't use something like that. I figured that the most user friendly choice would be ubuntu and using Remmina. Unfortunately a lot of our users have dual monitors, which Remmina doesn't support.

Jul 29, 2008 · The dual monitors work fine in Linux (Ubuntu 8.04), but that capability does not transfer over to the remote desktop connection when I use rdesktop. Will rdesktop support running multiple monitors with the 2k3 Server setup? Right now, rdesktop loads full screen on the left monitor, and the right monitor just stays at the Ubuntu desktop.

On your client run xterm and command xrandr --verbose There you will find out names of display ports (DVI-1, DVI-I-1, VGA etc.) and then you edit your thinstation.conf with proper outputs.
