If the receiving mail server does not offer STARTTLS at all - then the ESA would not run the command. While you can still force it manually via SMTP conversation telnet; devices following RFC (like the ESA) will not force a command if it was not using EHLO extension.

Feb 21, 2019 · 1. If you're using a script and you do not want to use SSL/TLS encryption you must ensure that the script is set to not connect over a secure port and use encryption 2. The mail client must be configured in a similar manner, if you do not want encryption you woudl check the plain authentication type rather than STARTTLS or SSL 3.

As seen in return to EHLO in Ubuntu session: STARTTLS is not supported by that server (at that time?, from that source?). Is that reproducible? STARTTLS is never visible from that server? Aug 17, 2015 · Here is the main issue: There are a couple copiers that do not support TLS. I need to get these copiers to be able to scan to e-mail but the SMTP server setup only allows me to setup non-ssl SMTP servers on port 25. Office 365 SMTP servers require TLS.

Jul 04, 2015 · On the authentication tab there's a tick box to enable or disable TLS. This is usually on by default, but if you've created new connectors it might be switched off. When 250-STARTTLS is not part of the EHLO command, the sending SMTP server will not use TLS to encrypt the message.
