Sep 21, 2012 · iPhone 5 charging issue could be due to excessive "lint/dust/dirt" buildup in the charging port. The port is small and accumulates dust/link easily and prevents proper connection with cable. Use a thumb tack, paper clip, or twist tie to remove all lint from the charging port and begin charging as normal!
