Dec 16, 2018 · By other words: when I want to rename a folder or a file, I need to press Fn+F2 instead of only F2. Like I did on my last laptop, I tried go to the BIOS and enable or disable the Action / Function / Fn option. For my suprise, on the desktop I bought there is no option on the BIOS like one of those.

Other notebooks have a "Fn Lock" (usually Fn+Esc), or a BIOS setting which does the same. (I am using 2 identical Dell Studio XPS 8000 desktop computers, running Windows 7, 64 bit, 1TB hard drives, Avast virus protection, windows firewall, Spybot,and using Microsoft USB Natural 4000 keyboards.)

There is a value on the TPM that stores the number of allowed boots before the PC gets locked, not even allowing you to get into the BIOS setup or the OS. When you turn on the computer, the BIOS subtracts 1 from the boot count stored in the TPM's NVRAM.
