May 14, 2008 · Seems ubuntu's ffmpeg install doesn't come compiled with mp3 support. Which is quite a pain. While not this modules fault, i think a help text about it somewhere could skip quite a few support requests and confusion.

Nov 20, 2018 · just change the /etc/apt/sources.list.d for the ppa:jonathonf/ffmpeg-4 to xenial within the .list file and list.save file. you may need to obtain the gpg key again, google: “checkaptgpg .deb” its from mx-linux, it’s a fantastic script for filling in missing repository keys within ubuntu, etc.
