First disconnect the USB cord for the printer from the computer, then expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers field and find any USB Printing Support entries that are greyed out. Oct 26, 2018 · Every time in devices and printer it says it has a driver problem. Troubleshoot, and it comes back to USB Printing Support Driver. Says to reboot to fix, never fixes. In device manger, there's the yellow triangle with the black exclamation point next to USB Printing Support.

Aug 06, 2010 · Both instances of USB Printing Support have yellow !'s. Now my printer doesn't work. After spending time on the phone with Canon (printer manufacturer) tech support, they say their software and drivers are installed and that something's wrong with plug 'n' play or usb hardware on the machine. I'm ready to be done with this problem!!!

Also note, Windows doesn't need the device driver to detect plug and play h/w (like your USB printer). It only needs the driver to identify the device and use it's functionality.
