Nov 04, 2009 · Hi all, From my file I read some characters which are chinese characters. But as they read as "刘士å¿*" I need to know how should I display them correctly as "刘士忠". If I copy those characters in Notepad it will convert those characters to chinese as "刘士忠" correctly? How do I work around with this in VB6. I tried setting regional settings but in vain.

The VB6 built-in controls and menus can, for example, display Chinese characters, but only using the correct Chinese codepage. (You can find more information about codepages in Michael Kaplan's book .) This means, that your end users might not even have this problem!

Sooner or later you finally decide VB6 is deprecated language. 15 years in programming means a lot. Of course, you may write your own OCX controls to avoid license problems or you'll find another way but that's still not the right solution.
