Jan 13, 2014 · Support Veigar, WTF? O.k. so I know Veigar is traditionally a mid laner / carry. Buuut he has a ridiculous stun, and pretty solid base damage. His ult scales off the enemies AP, so if he's behind on farm he can still get a decent nuke on enemy casters.

Jan 13, 2014 · But I find Veigar is much more usefull as a support for whatever reason. I've gotten penta-stuns or saved the people far too many times with stun for people to call Veigar support bad. I call him an unconventional Support, playing Soraka or Sona instead as needed.

Yes, Veigar support doesn't scale as well as mid Veigar, that's obvious. But it's wrong to say he doesn't scale. Hitting ANY of his spells grants him AP - even the cage. So you play support Veigar pretty much like any mage support. I win games with >300 AP sitting on just Archangels.

It's basically mid Veigar with less gold and probably less ap too but if he lands his stun cage you're gonna get chunked worse if his adc has respectable damage early. This is true. Also, if you want a strong early game support that will pressure for your adc and maybe get a kill or 2, I would recommend Vel'Koz over Veigar.

Also veigar is one of the weakest champs in terms of defense and will get absolutely destroyed if he oversteps which is easy to do in a 2v2 lane. That said you can build veigar support many ways, I mainly played him as a purely supporting cage bot, with 45% cdr and ardent locket tank with a voidstaff but this was back before locket was nerfed.

Mar 18, 2014 · i actually play veigar support quite a bit in ranked. He has a few issues: Hes really squishy early game. Having no starting defensive stats and very low hp, against aggressive supports like leona or thresh he can be punished early in lane quite hard. Hes also an incredibly high skill requirement support.
