Sep 05, 2008 · How well does CentOS 5.2 support the VIA C7 and RTL8110 network chip? I've searched the forum and wiki here and in Google, but not found anything really definitive on the subject; I'm thinking of buying a Jetway C7 (J7F4K1G2E) motherboard to build a low-power file/ssh/sftp/etc server for the house, and ideally I'd like to stick CentOS on it like our Linux desktop PC.

Jul 08, 2011 · The VIA C7-M is a full blown X86 CPU, so you should be able to run any 32 bit Linux distribution on it. Depending on the amount of RAM and the disk size you may be better choosing a not so hardware-hungry desktop environment.
