Jan 28, 2009 · CEC was a part of HDMI specification from ver 1.0, but its implementation is optional. But we can see increasing support of this protocol from various CE devices (especially TV boxes). My understanding is that as of Sept 2009 neither of AMD, NVidia and Intel support CEC in their HDMI-enabled video cards.Reviews: 3

CEC on video cards isn't a driver issue at all. its a hardware implementation via video card manufacturers and/or the ability of the computer to "tap" into the HDMI-CEC pins. pin 13 and 17 are what an standard HDMI cable uses for CEC but you have to have something on the PC end that can read and use that data which I doubt can be done with just software.
