There is a CLI Vim executable in MacVim's application bundle that will work with any Python/Ruby you have on your Mac without needing to tweak/update anything. May 12, 2018 · Just for the record. Make sure "python --version" prints a version 3.x of python. It doesn't matter if you have the python3 binary. The new brew Formula for vim auto-detects what is your version in the python binary and compiles vim with or without python3 support depending on that. Now there is no flag you can add to enable python3.
