Apr 27, 2015 · I'm having the same problem in displaying the chinese subtitle in vlc player. I have converted the chinese subtitle srt file to many encoding such as UTF8, BIG5, GB18030 and etc, and i play each of it, but still it doesn't work at all. what should i do? Can anyone help me ASAP please?

The VLC Media Player is very fussy and only accepts LiSong Pro (儷宋 Pro) (Previous link no longer works, Comment below with your email address and I can send it over by email). Put the downloaded font into C:\Windows\Fonts. SimSun and all other fancy Chinese fonts don't cut it for VLC.

Jan 17, 2008 · What do I need to install in order to display the chinese subtitle correctly? There's no problem with my PC because it has East Asian Language support installed. When I open the subtitle (.srt) file as a text file, the chinese subtitles are displayed correctly. So it's only a problem with I play it with VLC. Please help solve it. Thanks.
