Sep 13, 2010 · I setup the hard drive that has Solaris OS installed as a Slave drive in the PC i have ghost installed on, then i booted up from the ghost 8.0 boot CD and created an image .GHO file of the solaris operating system. The problem is i don't know how to convert this to a VMARE image.

Nov 24, 2008 · I see in the documentation about Converter 3.0 supporting Ghost 9 (and higher) images, however on ESX Server 3.5 when I try to do an import, .gho is not listed as a supported file extension, and Ghost is not listed as a supported app. What's the scoop on this? UPDATE This also happens when running the standalone VMWare Converter 3 on a machine.

Nov 16, 2010 · The images are Ghost 2003, .gho files, which I had equated with Ghost 9. Now I see that they may be incompatible. Am I hosed here, or is there a way to convert these .gho into something useful to VMware Converter?

Sep 13, 2010 · Create a new guest VM. Boot that guest with the Ghost restore CD and restore the ghost image onto that virtual machine. Then, run the VMware Converter against that guest VM and select ONLY the "reconfigure guest" option, as you've already created the image part.

Welcome to these user forums. There are no current versions of Acronis True Image that can convert an Acronis .TIB image file to the file format that is used by VMware and this has never been a conversion choice as far as I am aware.
