Feb 11, 2016 · Hello Everyone, I am looking for an eSATA card that I can use with a Dell Server I have. I have run out of disk space - and I have an external hardware RAID 5 array that I want to plug into the machine and use as an additional datastore in esxi 5.1.

Nov 04, 2008 · In the meantime, I plugged the eSATA card into a 1750 server that DOES have a PCI slot. However, VMWARE did not see the storage adapter or the storage at all. I'm worried that even with the PCI-X riser card in the 1950, ESXi won't see it, and that, my friends, is a darned shame.

Sep 26, 2012 · VMware ESXi 5.1 has USB 3.0 support, but it's currently limited to using the vSphere Web Client to map client-side USB 3.0 devices to the remote VM. Long story short, turns out ESXi 5.1 doesn't really support USB 3.0 in the way you might think. In other words, if your system running ESXi 5.1 has USB 3.0 ports, that's nice!
