Mar 10, 2015 · They support that (Intel S1200V3RPL) on 5.5, but not the older revision. Which I assume has a different USB controller. VMware's HCL does not cover USB cards. There's plenty for IDE, SATA, RAID, NIC, etc. Called VMware support and they refused to help me since I paid for "subscription support" not "technical support" (BS if you ask me).

I am evaluating ESXi 6 for an aerospace application. I wanted to be able to PassThrough a PCI-e card called the Dolphin IX610 to Windows7/Linux. The card does not appear in the list of hardware that is available for PassThrough. What can be done to get this card or any other "non-compliant" PCI/PCI-e cards into this list.

Oct 22, 2010 · My thought was to install a PCI video card into my ESXi 4 server and use that in conjunction with a Win XP VM to power the monitor. I've got the PCI video card in the server but I can't find anyway to add it to the VM. Using VSphere client when I look at the settings for the VM is shows it using the default VM video card device.

Mar 21, 2018 · I set up VMWare Workstation (free) at home this weekend, and have a Windows 7 Pro VM installed. That's all running quite well. The one limitation that I've run into is that I can't pass my GPU on my host through to the guest VM, so any graphical stuff on the VM is handled by my CPU.

Currently our Mac Pro 2012 servers run ESXi 5.5 and we were interested in knowing if we could add a PCI express card that would support one or two SSDs in the Mac Pro and vmWare would recognize and be able to boot from the PCIe card SSD drive(s).
