Apr 02, 2017 · There is no.vmx file on the server, the closest being.vxmf file, but there are no config lines such as those listed in the original thread. Workstation 12 Pro: No 3D support is available from the host. The 3D features of the virtual machine will be disabled. Could anyone clear this up please, 3d accelaration works fine on Vbox with a Mint host.

Mar 15, 2014 · I spent days testing and I made sure that my host does support 3d and has hardware acceleration (details of the tests here: BBB-Solutions: How to check if Ubuntu (12.04) has 3D support) I also spent days reading other people having similar problem. My only conclusion is that there is a bug in current version of vmware player. Anybody can help?

Under no circumstances should you fire up the VM entirely (i.e., past the point where you get a login screen and can pick the option to shut the VM down) until this "No 3D support" problem is fixed. That is apt to really booger something up.

Dec 12, 2015 · Warning exists underneath 3D Acceleration option. Windows 10 64-bit host, Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit guest. sudo apt-get update and tried installing latest version. No cigar. Also tried typical VMWare Tools install + open-vm-tools desktop, which gets me autofit at least.

Sep 03, 2018 · I have always liked VMware Workstation and found it to be an awesome, consistent product. Version 14 slightly degrades that impression, mostly because the 3D support wasn't quite as auto-magical as I'd expected or remembered it, and performance wasn't as good as I'd hoped. In fact, the Ubuntu virtual machine ran better with no 3D enabled.
