Sep 18, 2012 · Hello, I am hoping to build some new Windows VM's on ESXi v4 using the new paravirtual scsi controller (pvscsi). Windows obviously does not have drives embeddeed in the OS install disk and VMware has not posted a virtual floppy image of the device drivers.

Jul 27, 2016 · In our case since we are using VMware Paravirtual adapter as default SCSI controller, Windows 10 installation wizard does not identify a hard drive and showing message We couldn’t find any drives. To get a storage driver, click Load driver. To make Windows installer to identify the hard drive you need to install the pvscsi driver (in our case).

after uninstalling VMware Tools it removes the drivers from Program Files\Common Files\VMware\drivers but it does not remove the driver from System32\drivers. BUT on reboot, the OS failed to start inaccessible BOOT disk. and the driver is GONE. So VMware Tools does tamper and remove the PVSCSI.SYS driver from the OS, which is a bit naughty!
