Jun 11, 2015 · Bryan beat me to it. Base Essentials doesn't have support, it's Subscription only, meaning you automatically get license keys to new versions when they are released. All other VMware products have SnS, i.e. Subscription and Support. Still worth it though, for the ability to upgrade whenever you wish to.

Apr 08, 2010 · Hi, I just wanted to get some clarification on what a "subscription only" Vsphere purchase through a partner such as IBM entails? Is it correct to state that this is completely outside the VMware support domain (i.e. VMware Production support, VMware Gold support etc) and thus, no support is available directly from VMware?
