The child maltreatment stuff is disgusting. This organization can't claim they "abhor child abuse" if they don't do everything in their power to protect children in AND OUTSIDE the congregation. The thought that countless children outside the congregation have been sexually mistreated by disfellowshipped men is a constant nightmare.
