KB 96837: Does vRanger 5.4/5.5 and 6 support ESXi 5.1? New versions of ESXi/vSphere are usually supported within 60-90 days after its release. vSphere 5.1 was released september 11th so I really expect that Quest releases a vRanger update with 5.1 support in a week or so!

Jul 15, 2009 · Using vranger with ESXi seems to be a great mystery to both the folks at vizioncore and at vmware. Neither of them have been able to tell me what I need. I have ESXi installed and running with a Foundation Essentials license. I am using the latest version of vRanger Pro and cannot get even to the point where it sees my ESX host in the gui.

Aug 12, 2009 · I dont believe ESXi is supported with VRanger yet. I use esxpress and it is getting support for ESXi this quarter supposedly, but I have not tried it yet. You will need to contact the devteam for VRanger and ask them when they will support ESXi.

At the moment we're using vRanger to back-up our virtual environment. (3 ESXi hosts, +/- 150 VM's) I want to push Veeam. The problem is the price. vRanger renewal costs only €800 while buying a new Veeam license will cost approx. €4000.

Hi all before upgrading my vSphere 4 to vSphere 5 I replicate a VM with vRanger 5.3 with no problem. After upgrade I'm not able to vReplicate my VM if not install or configure a vRanger VAPP (one per host source and destination).
