Jul 13, 2018 · I have a WD TV Life Streaming Media Player and I try to play MKV file it plays some not others. The firmware is 2.03.20. I read some of the old notes but some of the software it recommends is no longer available. Any update information on how to play MKV files I would appreciate it. I tried to reboot and I unplugged it and replugged and no solution.

Oct 15, 2015 · WD TV Live Media Player does not play ISO files from a WD network drive. Bottom line: You bought the entry level WD media player, and you should have bought “up” to the Live Streaming (or Hub) model. Even so, you still cannot access your MKV files on say, your PC or PC drive, via Media Server access, but you can via Network shares.

Mar 12, 2009 · I also have a WD TV player which I would recommend to anyone, however, I use ISO files for HD material rather than MKV mainly because I have not been able to persuade MakeMKV to actually make an HD MKV - see my earlier posting on the subject (no problem with SD). The WD unit plays ISOs and, of course, burning to a disc is not an issue from an ISO.
