Just a couple weeks ago, Sony finally completed and officially released the new DLNA feature. It is not automatically integrated but is an app that you need to download. They bitch because it was a standard feature for an old console. Plex also is not free to use on ps4, DLNA is. I personally do use plex and prefer it over DLNA, but your argument is still backwards. The reason it's not supported is because they want you to buy videos off of the PS store and use the movies unlimited service.

Jun 18, 2015 · PS4 doesn't support DTS in MKV files so maybe your movies are like that, so we are trying to transcode. We still don't know which type of transcoding the PS4 supports. There are lots of options available to try in DefaultRenderer.conf if anyone wants to try to find something that works
