I've noticed Services for NFS in Windows 7 Ultimate has some very similar features so I am hoping that using local passwd/group files for user name mapping is supported. I only have an OpenLDAP server and doubt that Windows 7 would interact with it as a mapping server, will it? :) Thanks in advance, - aurf

Aug 01, 2019 · If it doesn't it is a step back from Windows 7 Pro and Ultimate which did have it. Win 7 Pro and Ult users got upgraded to Win 10 Pro and there isn't a 'ultimate' variant of Windows 10. Win10 Enterprise isn't available to anybody except large corporations so if Windows 10 Pro doesn't support NFS that is a really big step back.

Users when upgrading from Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows 7 Enterprise edition to Windows 8 Pro edition can no longer use Services for NFS feature.
