Mar 03, 2014 · This is not a simple problem. The drive is 200 gb, and where a 160 gb drive will format, the 200 gb will not be "shown" so as to format. In the case of the 160, I used a WIN98 start-up floppy and Win 98 disc to setup up partitions. That sets E: partition and a F: partition, but on the screen teh F: was not formatable, in XP HP Compaq.

Nov 18, 2008 · The 2tb is the theoretical limit of FAT32, not real world. Without a patched Fdisk, 98 has issues with drives and partitions larger than 64gb, the display is all wrong and you have to use drive percentages to set up partitions, not actual sizes. Windows 2000 needs SP4 and EnableLargeLBA to go over 137gb, FAT32 or NTFS, XP needs SP1.
