Windows supports jumbo frames by default but since a fair number of network switches (especially small of the shelf switches) don’t support jumbo frames this feature is typically disabled on network cards of Windows hosts. If your internal switching supports jumbo frames then you can enable it on the NIC of your Windows host quite easily.

Oct 25, 2008 · My host OS is Windows XP SP3, as is the guest, and I am using VMware Server 1.0.7 with it's VMware Tools. I have a two gigabit ethernet cards, with one of them bridged to VMnet9. I have enabled jumbo frame support on the host computer, the VM's virtual E1000 is bound to VMnet9 and jumbo frames are enabled there too.

Dec 06, 2012 · If that’s the case, you’ll get a fairly obtuse message about “No matching… objects”, which, unfortunately, is also what you’d get if you misspell your adapter name or if your adapter just doesn’t support jumbo frames. May 19, 2017 · NEVER have I ever had to use jumbo frames on any PC or OS. in fact doing so previously has made zero difference in throughput. i love windows 10 for what they did but it's actually worse than windows 8 on many levels. I won't go back to Win7 yet, if at all, I am just baffled why they did what they did for the home and pro versions.
