Sep 05, 2013 · If there are no Windows 7 versions try the latest drivers available. If needed check with the actual device maker's support to see if drivers are available. Be sure to check for the latest BIOS, chipset drivers, and other drivers while at your laptop maker's site. Those can also affect the operation of the card drive and other functions on the laptop.

Nov 27, 2013 · Historical note: MS released a "hotfix" for Windows XP that added support for SDHC cards > 4 GB , but this fix was included in service pack 3 (which you have). If you're feeling compulsive, check the 4 files listed in KB 934428 and confirm that they are at or newer than rev 6.0.4069.3259.

Apr 15, 2015 · As near as I can tell, the emachines 5260 was released in 2005, if not earlier. The SDHC standard was proposed in 2005, the first card reader controllers built in January 2006, the first cards hit the market in August 2006. Hardware built before 2006 is not capable of reading high capacity (over 2 GB) SD cards.

Nov 02, 2017 · My camera has a full size card that I plug into my wife's laptop's built in card reader, to put pictures up on Face Book. No problems reading and writing to it. I also put the Micro SD cards I use in my Raspberry Pi in a USB card reader, no problem accessing the fat 32 partition from Windows 10. I drag and drop files to and from them all the time.
