I have an eMachines W3502 running Windows XP Home edition SP3. I have 4GB of RAM installed and the machine seems to work fairly well. However, I cannot read a new 4GB SD/MMC card, the built in reader and an external USB reader both fail to read this card.

Re: XP doesn't support 4 GB RAM! basalone - apparently you have a bad stick of ram on your hands. as noted, a 32 bit OS will not reconcile 4gb of ram. it will show 3gb and change. however, having more than 3gb should NOT cause a bsod.

Dec 24, 2013 · With all the companies saying their 4GB card can be used in Windows XP 32bit, I don't see how, since 4GB - 4GB = 0GB, that would mean Windows XP should not be able to run as their is no space left for addressable memory. Can anyone confirm how a 4GB video card will work in Windows XP Service Pack 3 32bit with 8GB of RAM?

Oct 19, 2009 · My Windows XP is not able to read the card reader. I had attached a 4GB Memory card to the same. When I connect it the light blinks on it, but there is nothing on the screen. Also the card is not shown in My Computer. It must be displayed as removable media. But is not at all showing up. I think the the system has some issue with card reader.

I have also got a RiData 4GB X150 SD card that is formatted to Fat32 with files stored on it by Emachines T6520 desktop. Now the problem is that the gateway laptop is not acknowledging the RiData card when I plugging it in.
