Jun 18, 2002 · I want to play my collection of over 2000 WMA files in Linux, but it seems that there is hardly any support for this. I am using XMMS 1.2.7, but there has to be some libraries for WMA according to article I read on the internet from last month.

Why is it such a big deal? Because you don't have automatic support for these file types. You might not have automatic support for MP3 and WMA files on Ubuntu but the nice thing is that all you have to do to get support is try to run a file. When you do this you are prompted that a codec is required and the OS goes off and searches for it.
