Although the Linksys WRT54GX4 does support WPA there seems to be a problem on the WRT54GX4 in handling the request. The TPMC-10 will go through attempting to connect and authorize but will then get a cancel authorization command from the WRT54GX4 as documented here in the logs from the WRT54GX4 and then becomes unregistered:
