Mar 16, 2017 · DTS capable receiver OFF AC3 and E-AC3 will be passthrough and decoded by AVR DTS, DTS-MA and TrueHD will be decoded by Pi and sent to AVR as PCM Yes - unless you have enabled Dolby Digital transcoding (which appears as an option if you have a 2.0 speaker config). If that is the case then DTS, DTS-MA and True HD will be re-encoded as Dolby Digital.

Feb 17, 2014 · The thing is - the newer (yet still quite old already model) WDTV Live has received a firmware update last December and is already capable of managing DTS-HD MA, but my model seems to have no support any more from WD and is unlikely to get this update. Not really desperate to change the player right now, but started looking for some options.

Sep 14, 2015 · What is probably happening is that even though KODI does report that the file you are playing is DTS-HD 7.1, it is extracting the core DTS 5.1 track and passing it thru to your receiver. Android has that problem too. As far as I know, the only way to have Kodi pass thru HD audio is to use a Windows or Linux machine.

May 18, 2014 · I open this issue to track properly the HD audio support. We have received a few reports stating that HD audio (DTS-HD and dolby trueHD) does not work for a long time. I have recently become able to test as I have bought an HD audio capable receiver. I have found that High bit rate was not dealt with by the original driver.

Jan 18, 2016 · My archival workflow has shifted from H264/AC3 5.1 to HEVC/DTS-HD. It’s creating some transcoding work for my Plex server (to my Roku 3s) for the time being…but I’m hoping it will pay dividends down the road as I get more HEVC-capable clients. I guess I’m still holding out hope that Roku will one day support DTS-HD MA/TrueHD passthrough.
