Feb 12, 2014 · Confirmed that DTS-HD MSTR is still working on Ubuntu 12.04 with PulseAudio 2.0 The only thing still missing is Dolby TrueHD support. I did a clean install of Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit. I downloaded, compiled and installed audiofilter and xbmc from cbxbiker61's git repository. I did not modify PulseAudio or install the jsonc libraries.4/5(3)

Jan 09, 2009 · Anyway, the days of having to kill PulseAudio is now gone! in SVN we have added full native support for PulseAudio, this works in both DVDPlayer and PAPlayer. This is also a runtime drop in replacement for ALSA so if PulseAudio crashed or got killed XBMC would fallback and use ALSA.

Nov 26, 2011 · It's working great. I fixed a bug or two in XBMC's pulseaudio implementation on the way. In the process I ported Ac3Filter to Linux (and renamed it AudioFilter, so as not to confuse the two (I changed too many interfaces and improved it's performance). Anyway AudioFilter has become my primary audio library with regard to passthrough support.4/5(3)

1 PulseAudio vs ALSA. Linux has two different audio systems, these are PulseAudio and Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (ALSA).. If you have a PC that is exclusively used for Kodi then using ALSA maybe the best solution. If you have a PC runs many applications other than Kodi then using PulseAudio maybe the the best solution.

With Pulseaudio 13, support for DTS-HD and TrueHD IEC was added. Sadly there was barely any documentation on how to use it. Make sure to add the formats to your sink (check its number with pactl list sinks, in my case it's 0):
