IOMMU based SR-IOV support is an ideal IO virtualization •Each guest can get a portion of hardware •VMM doesn ’t need to intercept at runtime •High throughput, Low CPU utilization, Perfect scalability Early VMM support for SR-IOV is critical to IHVsto implement PF/VF drivers Dom0 Linux version alsomatters in terms of PF driver development

SR-IOV VFs do not support hot-plugging. If SR-IOV network is assigned to a VM while the VM is running, please shutdown then start the VM to make this take effect. A restart operation will not activate the feature for the VM. Performing live migration, suspend, and checkpoint is not supported on VMs using an SR-IOV VF. Disable SR-IOV Network.

Jul 16, 2016 · Walter, Good luck -- I know Xenmotion isn't supported with SR-IOV and support for it has been spotty, at best for years. The drivers are now I believe part of the kernel so look under /usr/lib/modules plus if you look in th eRPM installs you'll find:

SR-IOV. FortiGate-VMs installed on Xen platforms support Single Root I/O virtualization (SR-IOV) to provide FortiGate-VMs with direct access to physical network cards. Enabling SR-IOV means that one PCIe network card or CPU can function for a FortiGate-VM as multiple separate physical devices.

The PCIe single‐root I/O virtualization (SR‐IOV) specification standardizes the sharing of one PCIe device by multiple VMs. All SR‐IOV devices have at least one physical function (PF) used for device management. and multiple virtual functions (VFs). In case of Terminator Series, the chip’s PCIe v2.0/v3.0 interface supports 128 VFs.
