Yeah, if you can ditch IE7 and below you may be able to get away with ditching zoom and using -ms-zoom vendor prefix (it is supported in IE8+ if memory serves). With the proliferation of Webkit, I would say it would be better to not provide zoom to some random browser with market share ~0.1% and support Webkit fully. – martin Jun 25 '14 at 5:19
