The squadron accepted its first C-130E on 8 October 1975. By 28 May 1976, the 7405th received two more C-130Es and found a home in Building 30. The mission of the squadron was to provide dedicated airlift for USAFE operations in support of U.S. forces in Berlin and throughout the European theater, as directed by HQ US EUCOM.
