Tension only spring elements in ABAQUS , how to do it?

    http://abaqus-users.1086179.n5.nabble.com/Tension-only-spring-elements-in-ABAQUS-how-to-do-it-td5374.html
Tension only spring elements in ABAQUS , how to do it? ... *NO COMPRESSION This should make sure that only tension is permitted in the material - I have only tried this with truss elements rather than springs but I believe it should work. Have a look at section 21.2.2 of the user's manual for more details on this.

How to model no-tension Boundary Conditions in Abaqus?

How to model no-tension Boundary Conditions in Abaqus? I want to restrain only the compressive force in the boundary condition and eleminate the tensile reactions as the structure that I am ...

Ground-Spring boundary condition in Abaqus?

    https://www.researchgate.net/post/Ground-Spring_boundary_condition_in_Abaqus
I have build a simple model in Abaqus-Simulia which consists of a steel block mass on top of a compression wave spring, the bottom of the spring has been constraint in translations and rotations ...

Compression Only Support : •Applies a constraint in the normal compressive direction only. •Can be used on a cylindrical surface to model a pin, bolt, etc.. •Requires an iterative (nonlinear) solution. Compression Only Force Force … Supports

10.2.2 No compression or no tension

    https://classes.engineering.wustl.edu/2009/spring/mase5513/abaqus/docs/v6.5/books/usb/pt04ch10s02abm03.html
No compression and no tension definitions modify only the elastic response of the material. The overall behavior in a one-dimensional no compression elasticity model where the member is pulled, pushed, and then pulled again is as indicated in Figure 10.2.2–2.

XANSYS ~ View topic - [Xansys] Simulating compression only ...

    http://www.xansys.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=78093
Sep 15, 2009 · So to make a compression-only support in MAPDL (sorry, using new names of ANSYS products here), you need to create a copy of the face you want to apply the load to, and mesh it with target elements with the amesh command, and then mesh the flexible body face with the proper contact elements (once again, using amesh). Hope this helps, Doug Oatis
