Apparently adenomyosis is a common gynaecological condition. In my experience however, after experiencing debilitating migraines, being sent for blood, abdominal, bladder and bowel tests, and seeing various specialists (even having a brain scan), not one medically qualified person mentioned the existence of the condition to me.

I've been suffering with endometriosis and adenomyosis for many years and all the stuff that comes with it. I can honestly say the journey is not just dealing with pain but an emotional recovery. It's nice to know there is support like this out here.

Mar 30, 2019 · And I thought finding a support group in my area was hard for Endometriosis…there’s even fewer groups or organizations out there for Adenomyosis! The Adenomyosis Advice Association has a great online support center. There is also a Facebook private group called LIVstrong. If you suffer from Adenomyosis, please feel free to add a comment below.

Before I was diagnosed with endometriosis, I did not seek out much information online. I read the Endometriosis Association’s books, and other books I found on endo, but without the ‘official’ surgical diagnosis, I felt like I had no business popping up in forums and support groups to discuss my pain.

Adenomyosis can be easily confused with fibroids on both ultrasound and MRI. You may want to ask to be referred to someone who is experienced in recognizing and identifying adenomyosis in imaging/radiology. Adenomyosis may be a reason for continuing pain following surgery for endometriosis.
