The most recent time my asthma was exacerbated, my doctor finally put me on a short course of an oral steroid. That settled my lungs down enough so that the inhaled steroid could work. I also watch my diet,try to eat/take supplements that support the immune system, avoid triggers and take my rescue inhaler BEFORE I head out for my walk. Good luck..
