Oct 13, 2016 · So I contacted support again and after 4 hours they told me Windows is no longer going to support the Firewire adapter because it is obsolete. Apple still sells the Thunderbolt Firewire adapter and is supported on Mac, so it is not obsolete. I want to know why Windows will no longer provide an IEEE1394 driver for this device.

Feb 07, 2006 · i find it very hard to believe that ipods no longer support firewire connections. i called them and asked why this is and they gave me some bull s*&t answer. they said that usb is more popular than fire wire. when i said that is a load of bull since all macs since about 2000 come with 2 fire wire ports and the new dells come with it she didnt know what to say and just said they arent as popular.
