Feb 26, 2004 · The Getting started page says that Linux CUDA applications are supported. That's true - the new Linux BOINC does support CUDA. However, that page doesn't actually state what applications are currently available. [I agree - it's badly worded and confusing].

Apr 10, 2010 · The latest version of BOINC in combination with the latest CUDA drivers seems to be working. Here's a few screenshots of Collatz Conjecture sending GPU work on the Mac platform. Note, I'm still running Leopard.

May 14, 2018 · VirtualBox does support using a GPU this way, but only on Linux and only with PCI and some PCIe cards. If you want to see how to set this up for playing games in Windows in a VM running from Linux, read or watch the video on Play games in Windows on Linux PCI Passthrough. There are hardware requirements to do all this.

As far as the Linux version is concerned, BOINC 6.10.17 has CUDA and CAL support. If you run into problems and your GPU is one of the newer ones, your best run CUDA with the 185.85 drivers. I have had reports that this driver doesn't work with the Nvidia GTX 280 and above versions, though. You may want to check what Nvidia says about that.
