Re: Enabling jumbo frames in Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx on Dell Precision M6500 I know that on servers, the OS native (Microsoft) drivers don't support jumbo frames. If you're using Microsoft drivers, I'd suggest to upgrade the drivers to Dell's Broadcom drivers and see if they'll allow jumbo frames.

Jul 17, 2012 · The Broadcom 5709 in 4.1 does not support Jumbo Frames AT THIS TIME. When Broadcom wrote the driver for VMware to support HW offload, they didnt write in support for Jumbo Frames due to an issue with the way vSphere handles Jumbo Frames with HW initiator.

I have two Broadcom BCM5708C NetXtreme II GigE NICs in my Dell Windows SBS 2008 server. I would like make one them them Jumbo Frames enabled so that I can add it to my SAN whose VLAN on the switch is already using 9000 MTU. Broadcom's own data sheet for this NIC claims that it is Jumbo Frame capable up to a 9000 MTU.
