Aug 10, 2015 · Wikipedia claims NextPVR doesn't support CableCard. (I was looking at the comparison page.I'm not sure where you're looking. On this comparison page, it does correctly say NextPVR supports CableCard PVR_recording_software (wiki) That said, NextPVR only natively supports the SiliconDust HDHomeRun and Hauppauge DCR cablecard devices.

Even though BeyondTV and many other PVR software programs out there can work with Vista, they can't piggyback on top of Vista's CableCard support. According to Rakesh Agrawal, the CEO of Snapstream, this isn't something that's exposed in Microsoft's API, at least not beyond being able to change channels within MCE's TV app. So there you have it.

Jun 03, 2015 · Will Windows 10 have a solution to replace the DVR / PVR capability of Windows Media Center? I currently use an HD HomeRun tuner to record television programs on my hard drive in conjunction with WMC. WMC is the only PC-based DVR program that I know of that will support both broadcast and cable (copy-protected) recordings.
